All stocks available from Bloomington that carry constructs designed to knock down gene expression using the RNAi pathway are listed below. Most, but not all, of the insertions are under the control of UAS and therefore require GAL4 for expression.
Basic VALIUM vector information (for specifics, please see the TRiP site)
1) VALIUM1 - these are the "weakest" and very likely require the inclusion of UAS-Dicer2 for maximum effect
2) VALIUM10 - UAS-Dicer2 likely not needed; works well in the soma but usually not as well as VALIUM20
3) VALIUM20 - UAS-Dicer2 not needed as they use shRNAs; usually gives stronger effects than VALIUM10 in the soma; also works well in the germline
4) VALIUM21 and VALIUM22 - UAS-Dicer2 not needed as they use shRNAs; both contain a P transposase basal promoter and a K10 polyA for germline expression. These do not work well, if at all, in the soma.
