Intrachromosomal duplications
An intrachromosomal duplication is an extra copy of a chromosomal segment inserted within the same chromosome.

The origins and structures of intrachromosomal duplications can be complicated. An introduction to intrachromosomal duplications gives a general overview of duplication screens. Some duplications have more complicated origins than suggested by the figures in the Introduction and the columns below, so please look into the detailed history of any duplication important to your work.
