Stocks carrying X-linked lethals from the Bellen lab
This collection of X Chr lethals was generated by Hugo Bellen's lab as part of a forward genetic screen utilizing low concentrations of EMS to minimize lethal hits per chromosome. Acquisition of this collection is ongoing. More stocks will be added as they become available.

Briefly, y[1] w[*] P{neoFRT}19A chromosomes were mutagenized and lethal mutations were isolated. Selection was based on phenotypic characterization of homozygous mutant tissues in two types of clones electroretinograms of ey-FLP eye clones and morphological observation of wings and thoraces of Ubx-FLP clones. Complementation tests, duplication mapping and P[acman] mapping were performed, and mutations in selected cases were determined by PCR and Sanger sequencing and/or whole genome sequencing.
