G-TRACE (GAL4 Technique for Real-time And Clonal Expression) stocks allow one to generate cell clones that provide spatial, temporal and genetic information about the origins of individual cells.

The P{Ubi-p63E(FRT.STOP)Stinger} transgene may allow detectable GFP expression in some tissues in the absence of flippase. This is likely true for both the male and female germline and may be especially noticeable when doing anti-GFP antibody staining. The signal to noise ratio for these transgenes is high, however, which should allow for easy detection of "flipped" versus "unflipped" expression.
