We are excited to announce that the BDSC has acquired ~7,300 split-GAL4 hemidrivers from the Janelia Research Campus. A special thank you is due to the Janelia Research Campus for donating these stocks and in particular we'd like to thank Gerry Rubin, Barry Dickson, Todd Laverty, Karen Hibbard, and Rob Svirskas. We were able to acquire these stocks thanks to supplemental support from the NIH Office of the Director and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.

This support will allow us to transfer the stocks from Janelia to the BDSC and maintain the full collection of split-GAL4 hemidrivers for at least one year. After the initial period of support from NIH, we will evaluate continued maintenance of the entire collection or a subset based on usage of the stocks and availability of external funding.

On October 4, 2017 the first batch of ~2,400 split-GAL4 hemidrivers from Janelia became available for order. The second batch of ~5,000 stocks will be available for order sometime around October 24, 2017. To browse through available split-GAL4 stocks you can navigate to our split-GAL4 page.
